Wales women to tour Australia in summer 2025 while men’s Lions are there
The Wales women’s team will play two Tests on the tour against the Australian women’s team, while the British and Irish Lions men’s team will also take part.
The Wallabies will face Wales in Brisbane on Friday 26 July. A week later, on the eve of the second Kangaroos-Lions Test in Sydney, Wales will face the Australian women’s team in the same city.
Wales, currently ranked 10th in the world, five places below Australia, will use the tour as part of their preparations for the 2025 World Cup in England. Venues and times for the tour are set to be determined early next year.
Wales captain Hannah Jones said: “Playing Australia in their own backyard is a challenge for any team, but one we are looking forward to ahead of the 2025 World Cup in England in August and September.
“Knowing what a crazy sporting country Australia is, having lived and played rugby there, playing against the Wallabies at a time when rugby league will be dominating everyone’s minds and the Lions Test series is taking place is a An exciting prospect.”
