Duplantis, commonly known as Mondo, is considered the greatest pole vaulter of all time and broke the record again in 2024.
The 25-year-old defended his Olympic title in Paris, becoming the first back-to-back men’s pole vault Olympic champion since the 1950s and breaking both an Olympic record and a world record – the latter for the ninth time. This is the second time in his career and the second time this year.
Later in August, he broke the world record again, setting a new best of 6.26m at the Diamond League in Silesia, and won his second world indoor title and third European gold medal in 2024.
