Selena Gomez earns Golden Globe nominations for “Emilia Pérez” and “Only Murders in the Building”

Awards season kicked off with a bang from Selena Gomez, who debuted on Monday Nominated for a Golden Globe Award in recognition of her performances on both the big and small screen.

Gomez has been nominated twice for the Golden Globes, this year in the categories of Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Best Supporting Actress in a Movie. Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut announced the nominees during a Monday morning telecast from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Gomez, who is nominated for best actress for her role in the Hulu mystery drama “Murder in the Building,” has won praise for her performance in previous seasons and will reprise her role on the show for the fourth time in August. Gomez praised Saldanha’s reaction to the nomination in a social media post.

“Emilia Perez” leads Monday’s Golden Globe nominations with 10 nominations, spanning multiple acting categories in addition to directing, writing and music. It’s not often that an actor is nominated in two categories at one awards show for his work on multiple projects, but it has happened at the Golden Globes. Over the past decade, Amy Adams, Regina King and Alicia Vikander are just some of the celebrities who have competed at the Golden Globes twice in one year. Among the 2025 nominees, Gomez and Sebastian Stan are the only actors recognized in multiple acting categories for playing multiple characters.

Stan, of “Pam and Tommy” fame, is nominated for best actor in a motion picture musical or comedy and in a drama. He was recognized for his portrayal of a young Donald Trump in the dark comedy “The Apprentice” and the controversial biopic “The Apprentice.”
