Egypt: President El-Sisi Meets the King of Norway in Oslo
Today, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with His Majesty King Harald V of Norway during an official visit to Norway during his European tour.
Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed Al-Shennawi said King Harald V welcomed President Sisi and expressed Egypt’s appreciation for Egypt’s key role in Africa and the Middle East. The King praised the momentum of development in bilateral relations between the two countries in recent years.
President Sisi expressed his gratitude to King Harald V for the warm reception and emphasized the significance of this visit, which is the first visit by an Egyptian president to Norway since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1936. President Sisi expressed his appreciation for the progress made in bilateral relations in recent years. The president invited King Harald V to visit Egypt and attend the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
During the meeting, President Sisi and King Harald V discussed how to build closer bilateral relations and coordinate positions on issues of mutual interest in international forums. The two sides also reviewed the situation in the Middle East and Egypt-led efforts to restore stability in the region.
