Passenger attempted to divert domestic flight from Mexico into the U.S., Volaris airline says
The airline said a passenger on a domestic flight in Mexico tried to divert the plane to the United States but was stopped by crew. social media on Sunday.
Volaris said the crew on Flight 3041 from El Bajio to Tijuana managed to detain the passenger before the flight was diverted to Guadalajara in central Mexico. Once there, the passenger was handed over to authorities.

The remaining passengers and crew then continued on to their destination in Tijuana, which borders the United States
“Volaris regrets the inconvenience caused by this situation. For Volaris, the safety of our passengers and crew is a top priority,” the airline said in a statement on Sunday.
It’s unclear what motivated the passenger to change the plane’s route. The airline did not disclose at what point during the flight the incident occurred.
The airline said it had become a plaintiff to ensure the passenger received the full force of the law.
