Beau Greaves wins third WDF Women’s World Darts Championship at Lakeside

Beau Greaves wins the WDF Women’s World Darts Championship for the third consecutive year.

England’s 20-year-old Greaves came from a set behind to beat Scotland’s 18-year-old Sophie McGinley 4-1 in the final.

“I was relieved. I was stressed,” Greaves said after the 89-point win over the Bulls.

Ireland’s Shane McGuirk, 29, defeated 70-year-old Paul Lim 6-3 to win the men’s title.

Mr Lim, nicknamed the “Singapore Pitcher”, appeared on the same lakeside stage and became the first throw nine darts World Championships 34 years ago.

McKinley had earlier been beaten 2-0 by England’s 16-year-old Paige Bowling in the women’s final.

Archie Self, 15, became the first British men’s world champion with a 3-2 victory over Jason Walker.

Players cannot participate in both the WDF World Championship and the PDC Championship, which starts on December 15 at Alexandra Palace.
