Hero World Challenge: Scottie Scheffler takes two-shot lead in Bahamas
Defending champion Scotty Scheffler takes a two-stroke lead into the second round of the Hero World Challenge after shooting a stunning 64 on Friday.
The 28-year-old American had eight birdies, seven on the front nine, in a bogey-free round at Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas to finish at 13 under.
“(I’m) just trying to keep my foot on the pedal,” Scheffler said.
“It was good. I did a lot of good things. The front nine was really good, and then the back nine I felt like I did some good things as well.”
Compatriots Justin Thomas and Akshay Bhatia are tied for second at 11 under, with U.S. 2025 Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley two strokes back in fourth.
