Want Your iPhone’s Screen Brightness to Stop Changing Automatically? Do This

Are you annoyed by your behavior? iPhone Screen automatically brightens or dims? Your phone can sense the amount of light in the environment and adjust the display brightness, helping to relieve eye fatigue and make the screen easier to see. But sometimes, auto-brightness is a less useful feature.

The problem could be that your display automatically dims even when you’re in the sun. If you’re partially in shadow, your phone can be tricked into automatically dimming the screen even when it’s not needed. This may make it difficult to see what’s on the screen. If you increase the brightness manually, it will decrease again because of the automatic brightness. Fixing the problem isn’t always as easy as turning off the necessary settings – but it’s a good place to start.

We’ll show you two settings you need to disable to help prevent your iPhone from automatically dimming. Note that even if these two settings are disabled, your iPhone may still automatically adjust brightness.

First, disable auto-brightness

Yes, this may seem a little obvious, but the first thing you need to do is make sure auto-brightness is disabled in settings. The feature is pretty self-explanatory – it automatically adjusts the brightness based on ambient light. If you want to prevent the monitor from always trying to adjust, you must disable this feature.

In the Settings app, go to Accessibility > Display and text size and close Auto brightness at the bottom of the page. You might think that this setting would exist in Display and brightnessso it’s not uncommon for auto-brightness to be enabled without your knowledge, as it’s hidden under Accessibility.

If your brightness continues to adjust automatically, you need to disable another setting.

Don’t let your iPhone overheat

Your iPhone has several ways to protect its internal components, including automatically dimming the display. Even if you turn off both Auto-Brightness and True Tone, if your iPhone overheatingwhich automatically adjusts the display intensity.

According to Appleto prevent this from happening, you should use your iPhone at temperatures between 32 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit (zero to 35 degrees Celsius) and store it at temperatures between 4 and 113 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 20 to 45 degrees Celsius). If you leave your iPhone in the car or on the sidewalk on a hot day, or even if you try to use it by the pool or beach on a hot day, there’s a good chance it will overheat and cause the display to automatically dim.

Overheating doesn’t just happen because of sunny weather. Battery failure can also cause your iPhone to overheat: Go to set up > Battery > Battery health And check if your battery needs replacing.
