Toulouse vs Ulster: ‘Why you play’ – Nathan Doak on facing European champions and Antoine Dupont
Ulster centre-back Nathan Doak says Sunday’s challenge against Investec Champions League holders Toulouse and superstar Antoine Dupont will be like “a test match”.
Richie Murphy’s side will take on the top 14 leaders at the Ernest Stade-Wallon in the first game of this year’s competition.
Doc knows his side face a tough task but is delighted to be facing a quality side that includes renowned France international Antoine Dupont.
“That’s why you play — you’re playing Toulouse and Dupont — it’s just something you want to be a part of,” Doak said.
“It’s a big challenge, but it’s something we’re looking forward to.”
Former Player of the Year Dupont scored twice in Toulouse’s 48-24 win over Ulster last season.
“He’s the best player in the world for a reason but you don’t want to grind too hard on him because they have quality throughout the squad,” Doak added.
“For us, it’s just about making sure we do the right things, focus on ourselves and see what we get out of it.”
