This Multidevice Keyboard Is the Key to Decluttering My Workspace

Looking around my office, I realize that I have a habit of collecting computers. I have at least four lying around now, one of which is an old Chromebook that I should probably throw away…er, I mean, recycle. Maybe it’s a habit I picked up from my teenage years building gaming desktops for fun. I have more computers on (or under) my desk than I have hands on anyway, and there’s nothing worse than cluttering up your workspace. keyboard. My solution is Logitech K780 Multi-Device Keyboard

This keyboard switches between three devices with the press of a button. For me, this means I can move seamlessly between my work laptop and my personal computer, and even be able to type more comfortably on my computer iPhone.

If you have multiple computers or devices around you and need to switch between them, you can use a multi-device keyboard or mouse (I use Logitech M585) may be a more cost effective or simpler solution than KVM switch. Here’s how I use them.

Hey, you know what? CNET deal text is free, easy and saves you money.

One keyboard for multiple devices

My desk is cluttered enough as it is, balancing a few drinks, notebooks, notepads, and the occasional (okay, frequent) intrusion of a cat. Having a keyboard and mouse and a dedicated, accessible space is key to keeping things from getting too out of hand.

The Logitech K780 can handle three devices. It primarily switches between my work laptop and my personal MacBook Air, but a third option can connect via Bluetooth or Logitech’s Flow system.

Just as importantly, this keyboard is very sturdy. I’m known as a loud typist, and this thing stands up to the punishment I give it every day. It’s a complete keyboard with a number pad, and I’ve used it more than I expected (you can get K380sno numeric keypad, for Only $32). It easily connects to Mac and Windows computers via Bluetooth. Logitech doesn’t emphasize Linux compatibility (it can have issues with Bluetooth), but it connects to a desktop running Linux Mint via a wireless USB adapter.

As for the mouse, I use a Logitech M585 multi-device mouse that can switch between two different computers or devices. Just toggle the button behind the scroll wheel.

There is a black Logitech keyboard on the wooden table.

The Logitech K780 Multi-Device Keyboard allows me to work on multiple computers at the same time when not being used as a cat bed.

Is a multi-device keyboard a good gift?

Today, we work from home and the need to juggle multiple devices is more pressing than ever. A multi-device Bluetooth keyboard is one way to solve this problem for the multiple computer users in your life. Not only does it work on multiple laptops or desktops, but it often works with tablets and phones, meaning you don’t have to tap the touch screen as much.

It’s a keyboard, but it’s a good keyboard – and chances are it’s the only keyboard you’ll ever need.
