Blackburn killer driver filmed himself speeding with feet out of car window

The driver puts his feet out the window on the highway

A driver involved in a fatal crash has previously filmed himself speeding on the motorway while dangling his feet out of the car window.

Caleb Mansfield-Marr, from Blackburn, was traveling at 64mph when he crashed into a car in Bradbury, Greater Manchester, on August 7, 2023. More than twice the speed.

Jack Howe, 76, a passenger, died of his injuries the following month. His 74-year-old wife, who was driving, was also seriously injured.

Mansfield-Marr, 22, admitted causing death by dangerous driving at Manchester Crown Court and was jailed for 12 years.

Investigators found videos on Mansfield-Marr’s phone of him repeatedly driving dangerously.

Sgt Louise Warhurst, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “In one video we have uncovered, Mansfield-Marr is seen driving at more than 80mph on the motorway with her feet crossed and in the car. Rest outside the window while using cruise control.”

Police said that at the time of the fatal crash, Mansfield-Marr was disqualified from driving, had no driving license and had no insurance after being caught speeding and failing to stop after a collision.

Sgt Warhurst added: “This is a dangerous man who believes that the rules and laws that all other road users follow every day do not apply to him.”

Mr Howe’s widow, who has not been named, called him “my best friend”.

She said in a statement: “The morning of September 25, 2023 changed my life forever – I became a widow.

“My lovely, kind, caring husband of 50 years has passed away.

“There is no more companionship, conversation, laughter or celebration to share together.

“My injuries are healing, but nothing can heal the loss of Jack.”
