Oxtoby hopes Northern Ireland adopt a braver approach in the second leg as they have nothing to lose.
“Part of the performance is trying to go out there, be more aggressive, put pressure on the ball, and we showed in the second half that we can do that,” she continued.
“We ask the girls to be brave and step out of their comfort zone, so we’ll see if they can last 90 minutes and that will be a test of our success.”
Oxtobe believes her side must focus on what they can control rather than focusing on stopping Norway’s threat, as the quality of Gemma Granger’s side is spread thin.
Oxtobe added: “When you play against a team like Norway who have quality all over the pitch and we’ve seen that come to the fore, so if you try to close one option another one will appear. ”
“We need to focus on ourselves and the goals we are pursuing. The players need to be ready for the momentum shifts in the game and be comfortable under pressure.”
