It’s a record-breaking start to Amazon’s holiday shopping season (Amazon).
The online retail giant reported record sales and the number of items sold during Black Friday week and Cyber Monday events from November 21 to December 2.
Amazon noted that more than 60% of its store sales come from independent sellers, the majority of which are small and medium-sized businesses.
The company touts its low prices and points to a study e-commerce Analyst firm Profitero found that “Amazon’s online prices are among the lowest heading into the holiday season, 14% lower for the eighth consecutive year compared to other leading U.S. retailers.”
Amazon says generative AI feature helps shoppers

Amazon isn’t the only company releasing large amounts of data. E-commerce research firm Adobe found that consumers spent $41.1 billion from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, an 8.2% increase from a year ago.
Amazon shares recently rose 1% to $212.79, near last month’s all-time high of $215.90.
