Michael Cheika: Leicester Tigers boss says side taught lesson in Sale defeat
Former Australia and Argentina coach Cheika said the Tigers performed “well” against Sale but admitted their performance lacked some “fundamentals”.
The game marks the start of two months of non-stop league and Champions League action for the East Midlands club before another month-long break in the Six Nations in February.
Cheika, who won Europe’s biggest club honors during his time in charge of Leinster, said the defeat at Salford Community Stadium could prove to be “a positive thing”.
“It was a good lesson for us, okay, it’s time to step up and get to a better level, especially in the physical side of the game,” he continued.
