NBA: Giannis Antetokounmpo stars as Milwaukee Bucks win six in a row
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored his first career 40-point triple-double and the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Washington Wizards 124-114 for their sixth straight victory.
This is also the third triple-double for Greek star Antetokounmpo this season. He scored 42 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.
Although Jordan Poole scored 31 points for the visitors, Damian Lillard’s 25 points and 10 assists helped the Wizards suffer their 14th consecutive loss.
Despite Stephen Curry’s return from injury, the Golden State Warriors lost 113-105 to the Phoenix Suns, extending their losing streak to four games.
The Suns were dominant, leading by 17 points at halftime, with Devin Booker (27 points) and Kevin Durant (21 points) among the five players scoring in double figures.
The Charlotte Hornets also suffered a losing streak, losing 107-104 at home to the Atlanta Hawks and suffering a five-game losing streak.
Elsewhere, Cameroon center Joel Embiid was out with injury again for the Philadelphia 76ers, who beat the Detroit Pistons 111-96, although Paul George is back after missing the last three games. Tyrese Maxey of the 76ers scored 28 points.
Kyrie Irving scored 30 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 106-94 victory over the Utah Jazz as they improved to five wins in six games despite Luka Doncic’s injury.
