Leicester City players told Copenhagen behaviour was unacceptable, says Ben Dawson
Caretaker manager Ben Dawson says Leicester City players were told their behavior at a Copenhagen Christmas party was “unacceptable” but they have moved on from the incident.
The players travel to Denmark on Saturday Lost 2-1 to Chelsea and boss Steve Cooper was fired 24 hours later.
Footage, which has not been confirmed by BBC Sport, shows the team partying at a club in Copenhagen, with a sign nearby reading “Enzo I miss you” – a reference to former manager Enzo Ma Resca.
Dawson will take charge of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Brentford Ruud van Nistelrooy’s appointment expected to come soon Confirmed that the squad has been spoken to.
“They got the key message from the club that what happened was unacceptable and we need to move on,” he said.
“That’s it. Then all eyes are on performance and training to get results.
“Every player needs some time off. That time off is scheduled and the players have the right to do what they want to do. This particular issue has been dealt with internally very quickly and we have resolved it. ”
Leicester City are in 18th place in the Premier League, one point above the relegation zone.
