Fifa Best Awards 2024: England’s Lucy Bronze, Lauren Hemp and Keira Walsh among nominees
England’s Lucy Bronze, Lauren Hamp and Keira Walsh have been nominated for the 2024 FIFA Women’s Player of the Year award.
Lioness Mary Earps, a two-time winner of the Female Goalkeeper of the Year award, is once again a finalist.
England and Arsenal winger Beth Mead has been nominated for the inaugural MARTA Award, which recognizes the best goalscorer in women’s football.
Mead was shortlisted for his second goal against West Ham United in November 2023. Brazilian great Marta, for whom the award is named, is also among the nominees.
Emma Hayes, named coach of the year, led Chelsea to a fifth consecutive Women’s Super League title before winning Olympic gold with the United States.
Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor, new Chelsea manager Sonia Bompasto and Celtic manager Elena Sadiku are also shortlisted.
Spain and Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati has been named Women’s Player of the Year for 2023, once again one of the nominees for the same award.
Voting for the ninth annual awards is open on FIFA.com and closes on December 10.
The voter list is made up of national team coaches, captains, journalists and fans.
