Zhang Anda makes maximum 147 break at UK Championship

China’s Zhang Anda scored his first full score of 147 points at this year’s British Championships against compatriot Lei Peifan at York Barbican Centre.

The 32-year-old Zhang scored 15 red balls and 15 black balls, then all colors in order. When he scored the last ball, the audience stood up and applauded him.

His largest single break is the 21st in the history of the British Championship, the 208th in the history of professional snooker, and the 6th in the 2024-25 season.

The achievement earned Zhang a £15,000 prize, although the prize money will be shared if other players do the same for the rest of the week, which ends on Sunday.

When Zhang shot 147, he was trailing 2-1 on the second table and the break followed.

The winner of this match will face former world champion Mark Williams of Wales or Stuart Bingham of England.

No. 11 seed Zhang Xiang has shot 147 twice before – against Ukraine’s Anton Kazakov in the 2022 European Masters qualifying round and against England’s Tom Ford in the International Championship final a year later.

If Zhang repeats his success at remaining events, such as the Masters in January or the Crucible World Championships in Sheffield in April and May, he will receive a bonus of £147,000.
