PGA Tour Player of the Year: McIlroy, Scheffler & Schauffele in mix

Rory McIlroy has been nominated for the PGA Tour Player of the Year award along with Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele.

The Northern Irishman, who won the Zurich Classic and Wells Fargo Championship, had a strong and consistent year with seven top-10 finishes in 19 starts and only one failure. Advance.

The 35-year-old kicked off the new year by winning the DP World Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic in January, winning the DP World Championship and claiming the title for the sixth time in the Battle of Dubai .

American Schauffele won the PGA Championship and the British Open – the first two majors of his career.

The 31-year-old hasn’t missed a cut in 22 PGA Tour events and has 15 top-10s.

Scheffler has won seven of 19 tour events, including his second major title at the Masters in April.

The 28-year-old American also won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics and is a FedEx Cup champion.

The player of the year, voted on by PGA Tour members, will receive the Jack Nicklaus Award.

The four nominees for the Arnold Palmer Award, given to the Rookie of the Year, are Nick Dunlap, Max Glaeserman, Jake Knapp and Mathieu Pavin.
