Jude Bellingham ‘felt a bit like the scapegoat’ after England’s failure to win Euro 2024
Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham says he “felt a bit like a scapegoat” over England’s failure to win Euro 2024 and is now smiling again.
Bellingham has been criticized by fans for some of his performances in games.
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Liverpool, Bellingham said: “After the Euros I lost a lot of my smile playing for England because I felt like I was being treated a little bit compared to what I contributed. “
“I think it was a little harsh on me. I felt like a little bit of a scapegoat. Maybe I felt a little sorry for myself.
“I felt like I contributed some pretty big moments, but it felt like the whole world came crashing down on me, especially in the three days after the final. It’s not a good feeling.”
