Irish Cup: Cliftonville to open defence against fifth-round debutants Banbridge Rangers

Cliftonville will begin their Irish Cup defense in January with a fifth round tie against Ulster League One side Banbridge Rovers in Solidarity.

The Reds beat Linfield in last season’s final to lift the trophy for the first time since 1979, while Rangers will reach the fifth round for the first time. Defeated Queen’s University in the previous round.

Ambitious Championship leaders Bangor host Newington, Academy host Loughgar, while Belfast Celtic host Moyola Park and Glenavon. Team Dundela.

Island Magee or Ballymakash Wanderers will take on Ballyma Mallard United in round four this weekend.

The competition is scheduled for the weekend of January 3-4.
