Liverpool: Mohamed Salah ‘disappointed’ by club’s failure to offer new contract
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah says he is “disappointed” at the club’s failure to offer him a new contract and looks more likely to leave than stay.
The 32-year-old is Liverpool’s top scorer this season with 12 goals in all competitions, but his contract will expire at the end of the season.
Salah scored twice, including the penalty winner, in a 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday to help Liverpool move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The Egyptian striker joined the Reds from Roma in 2017. tell reporters, external On St Mary’s win: “We’re almost into December and I haven’t received any offers to stay at the club.
“I’m probably more on the outside than in.”
Asked if he was “disappointed” that he had not yet received an offer to renew his contract, Salah said: “Of course, yes.
“I’m not retiring anytime soon so I’m just playing football and focusing on this season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League too. I’m disappointed but we’ll see.”
