“We believed in ourselves so much, we always felt like this was possible, so to do it now feels incredible,” Grixpool said.
The Netherlands will face defending champions Italy or Australia, led by world number one Sinner, in Sunday’s final.
“We do it more uniquely because we don’t have a top five player, we don’t have a top 10 player, we don’t have a top 15 player – but it’s a team effort,” Netherlands captain Paul Hal Hughes said.
“We have to believe in ourselves and no matter who is against us, we can do it. This is our time. We’re here and we’re going to make it work.”
Three-time champions Germany are aiming to reach the final for the first time since their last title win in 1993.
They lost world number two Alexander Zverev, who said last month he would miss the Davis Cup final to “get back to 100 per cent” for the 2025 season.
