Bristol Bears to sign Pedro Rubiolo from Newcastle Falcons

Newcastle United’s Argentinian second-row player Pedro Rubiolo is set to join Premier League rivals Bristol next summer.

The 21-year-old, who has made 19 appearances for the Cougars, has signed what Bristol say is a “long-term contract” at Ashton Gate.

Rubiolo has made 21 appearances for Newcastle since then Join the club in January 2023.

He was part of the Argentina team that reached the semi-finals of the last Rugby World Cup.

He helped Argentina defeat New Zealand and South Africa in this year’s Rugby Championship and started all three games for the national team this autumn.

“Pedro is one of the rising stars of Argentine rugby, having already established himself as a starter for the Pumas at just 21 years old,” said Bristol Bears Director of Rugby Pat Lam.

“He has impressed both domestically with the Newcastle Falcons and internationally with the Pumas.

“We are excited about the physical attributes and work rate he will add to our forward unit, and we look forward to welcoming Pedro to the Bears family next season.”
