Best Electric Kettles of 2024
First up, here’s a list of the eight models we tested in our latest round of testing to find the best electric kettle:
Chefman Easy Fill Electric Kettle: At around $30, it’s a steal. Pour-over lid allows for quick and easy filling. It has no temperature control and does not maintain hot water after it boils. This is one of the slower kettles, taking 6 minutes to boil. If you just want to boil water without any of the bells and whistles, this is the option for you.
hamilton beach cold touch kettle: With five preset temperature settings, cool exterior, quick boiling time, and reasonable price, it’s a great choice for tea drinkers. It maintains the temperature you set for up to 30 minutes.
Beautiful by Drew Barrymore One Touch Kettle: Our overall winner is a great value product that packs a lot of features and boils water as fast as any electric kettle we’ve tested. It has four preset temperatures, but you can turn them up or down in five-degree increments. This attractive kettle keeps water at the temperature of your choice for up to 60 minutes, and its cool exterior makes it a safer option.
KitchenAid 1.25L Electric Kettle: It has an unusual appearance for an electric kettle in that it looks like a traditional electric kettle. It’s cute and small and comes in a variety of colors, making it one of our top picks. You can even use it with other KitchenAid appliances, such as a stand mixer. It includes a mesh filter to capture limescale for cleaner water, but doesn’t offer any fancy features beyond that.
Aromaster Gooseneck Electric Kettle (Update: Out of Stock): The gooseneck spout and built-in analog thermometer are the highlights of this kettle. A gooseneck spout is a must-have for pour-over coffee, and it’s important to know the exact temperature because you don’t want the water to come to a full boil to brew your coffee. You can’t set or maintain a certain temperature, but at least you can see it on this kettle.
Bodum Melior gooseneck electric kettle: At about $40, this is the cheapest gooseneck kettle I’ve ever tested. If that’s the only feature you need, the Bodum’s price point makes it an attractive option, but it lacks notable features and boils relatively slowly compared to other high-wattage options.
Cosori electric gooseneck kettle: If you want an affordable gooseneck kettle with five tea and coffee temperature presets and a 60-minute keep-warm function, this one will cost around $60. Clearly marked buttons on the base make it easy to use.
Stagg electrocardiogram electric kettle: Want to impress your guests with the best hand-brewed coffee? This coffee retails for between $165 and $195, depending on the finished product, and while a bit extravagant, it offers the best features for coffee lovers. The Stagg has the gooseneck spout you want for controlled pouring, so you can turn up the exact temperature you want and then leave it on for 60 minutes. Plus, it’s a downright gorgeous addition to any kitchen that you’ll be proud to display.

Finally, here are the test notes from previous years’ tests.
this Zwilling Enfinigy Purely from an aesthetic perspective, it’s a favorite out of the box, and the kettle performed very well in our testing. The build is solid and I like the minimalist one-click design. It weighs just over 2 pounds, but it’s not overly bulky, and its exterior is cool to the touch to keep your fingers safe. There is another Pro model with similar appearance and same dimensions Now.
Another top pick from previous years is Oxo Brew Adjustable Gooseneck Kettle. With its gooseneck spout, it’s a particularly attractive kettle for pour-over coffee or other manual coffee-making setups that require a steady, controlled pour. It’s still a good choice, but Cosori’s gooseneck kettle offers similar features and performance for a few bucks less.
at the same time, Oxo Brew Cordless Glass Kettle In fact, it’s the fastest and most stable kettle in our 2021 water boiling test. It has a stylish yet sturdy construction and is perfect for any kitchen theme, especially if you like an electric kettle with a carafe.
this Smarter iKettle: Not currently available in the US, but performed well in our tests and I like the sturdy stainless steel construction. This is the only app-controlled kettle we’ve tested, which has proven to be both a blessing and a curse. Specifically, it boiled water quickly and completely when controlled via the app, but when I tried to boil water the old-fashioned way using the button on the side of the kettle, it shut off before it came to a full boil. If you’re addicted to the app, it’s easy to check the amount of water in your kettle and start the water boiling remotely from your device. Whether it’s worth spending a little more than a standard electric kettle is up to you.
expensive Smeg electric kettle is another high-octane kettle with solid construction and tons of retro charm. My main complaint is that it feels extremely hot to the touch. It’s also very expensive, especially considering it doesn’t have any special features other than simply boiling water. If you like the look of it, you won’t be disappointed, but it doesn’t offer much value.
this Cuisinart Perfect Temperature It also performed well in testing, but its performance doesn’t match its $100 price tag (although it sells for as low as $68). If you want to buy one from this brand and PerfectTemp is not on sale, I would slightly recommend this one Basic $70with fewer presets but more reasonably priced. As my (now former colleague) Megan Wollerton reported in CNET’s first round of testing, PerfectTemp has received customer feedback and Amazon Reviews Claimed its automatic shut-off feature was defective and posed a potential fire hazard. Cuisinart did not respond to a request for comment.
Two Ovente kettles I tested — $27 Ovente Lighting (Update: Out of Stock) and $50 (now $45) Owent Victoria Series — is an affordable option that boils water quickly and is easy to use. Both products performed poorly in testing and felt a bit cheap. Additionally, both kettle lids are unnecessarily detached from the kettle, meaning you can misplace them. Knowing me, I probably will.
