Pexar 11-inch Digital Picture Frame review: bright, brilliant and well priced

Pexar 11-inch digital photo frame review

The Pexar 11-inch Digital Photo Frame is a true 2K photo frame that hits the sweet spot in terms of cost. At $159.99/£149.99, it’s more affordable than many mid-market and high-end frames, while offering pretty decent specs and admirable performance. Since it uses local storage, there are no ongoing subscription fees. Well, in terms of return on investment, I think it’s a pretty good deal.

Getting started with the Pexar 11-inch Digital Photo Frame is easy. Once it’s plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi, you can scan a QR code to download third-party Frameo apps. Then, all you need to do is press the “Add Friend” button on the screen, enter the code shown in the app, and you can start sending images to your hearts. Of course, this also allows you to connect with friends and family so they can add photos to your frames too.

For those of you wary of uploading photos of your nearest and dearest to the cloud, here’s some good news. The Pexar comes with 32GB of built-in storage, which should be plenty; that’s enough to store nearly a quarter of my photos, which I’ve been shooting since 2010. If you need more space, you can easily upgrade your frame’s storage – just add an SD card, USB-A or USB-C memory stick to add up to 1TB.

Adding photos is as easy as using many photos best digital photo framealbeit with some special features. You can scroll through your entire phone’s image library or each album, click on a single photo or select up to 10 photos at a time – if you want to upload more photos at once, you’ll have to upgrade to Frameo+, which costs $1.99/0.99 per month Pounds or $16.99/£7.99 per year. You’ll then have the opportunity to add a title and then select a circular focus area and Pexar will make sure to maintain the portrait or landscape frame. Note that you can’t resize this focus area, and sometimes it’s framed weirdly – I’d rather choose to manually crop each photo, to be honest.
