Veteran boxer Mike Tyson will go head-to-head with Jake Paul, who rose to fame as a YouTuber and turned to boxing.

Tyson’s career began in the 1980s, earning legendary status in the ring as a heavyweight champion before retiring in 2005 and then donning the gloves for a few years in exhibition matches. The 58-year-old’s last fight was in 2020 against another former world champion, Roy Jones Jr. Paul, 27, has been training for months with the goal of winning. A Netflix documentary chronicles their training process, Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson.

Thursday night, Tyson slapped Paul The two faced off at the weigh-in after Tyson climbed on stage, stepped on Tyson’s feet and stood on his face. Now, fans can’t wait for the bell to ring for tonight’s event.

Paul and Tyson have been promoting this Netflix Showdown The full-year competition has been postponed from its original date of July 20. The event will be broadcast live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with a series of preliminaries leading up to Friday night’s main event.

Roy Jones Jr., Mauro Ranallo and Rosie Perez will provide sideline commentary. Sean Wheelock will serve as rules and scoring specialist, with Mark Calo-oy serving as referee. The heavyweight bout between Paul and Tyson will feature eight rounds, each lasting two minutes, and is approved as a professional bout by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. So, points will be scored, but there will be no championship involved. Instead, these fighters are pitted against each other to make money.

When does the Tyson vs. Paul match start?

The main event will be broadcast live worldwide exclusively on Netflix Friday, November 15, 2024 at 8:00 PM ET (5:00 PM PT). Watching is available to all Netflix subscribers regardless of plan type, so even if you have a $7 ad-based subscription, you can watch. You’ll be able to see other boxers battle before Tyson and Paul hit the ring and against each other.
