England in West Indies: Tourists seal T20 series win with nervy victory
While there’s no minefield on the pitch, it’s certainly enough to keep the bowlers interested, so West Indies will be confident of extending their advantage with England falling behind by three runs early on.
The impressive Hussain dismissed England’s standout batsmen Phil Salt and Buttler in the first two games, while the returning Joseph kept Bethell at bay.
However, Will Jacks showed determination and Curran looked in fine touch from the start, hitting his first four with grace.
The pair got England back on track but the crunch moment came after Jacks scored 32 points and lost to Moty.
Livingstone came in and immediately pushed Joseph into the six-man stand. But two balls later, he slipped a hook shot, only for it to be caught by Pooran as he ran back from behind the stumps.
Pooran gave Livingstone another chance in the next over as he was behind Moty and the ball bounced off the keeper’s gloves.
Curran’s innings came to an end when he picked out Hope at backward point to give the first T20I wicket to Terrence Hind, who had to hold on to a tough low catch in the next over if Hetmyer held on Ball to dismiss Livingstone and England could be in trouble.
Instead, Livingstone handed the charge to Joseph, hitting a six and two fours in an over that saw 21 from the required 18 balls suddenly become 5 from 12 balls.
He tried to end the match in style but Rehan Ahmed came on and punched the ball over cover to complete the job for England in the final over.
England can celebrate a series win, but West Indies will know that without some sloppy fielding they could be back in the game quickly.
