The event was held on November 6, 2024 at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as part of the 7th Saudi-Spanish Center for Islamic Economics and Finance (SCIEF) Islamic Finance Implementation Program. - Climate action and sustainable development: Moderated by Ms. Farhat Jahan Chowdhury (Senior Environmental Assurance Specialist, Islamic Development Bank), the conference delved into innovative approaches to combating climate change, promoting sustainable practices and green financial solutions.
- Sukuk issuance and sustainable finance framework: Moderated by Mr. Mohsin Sharif (Senior ESG and Investor Relations Specialist, IsDB) and Mr. Mustafa Binomar (Senior Capital Markets Specialist, IsDB), the session delves into the complexities of Sukuk issuance and sustainable finance, showcasing IsDB’s expertise in this area pioneering role.
- Innovative solutions to economic challenges: Chaired by Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem (Acting Director General, IsDBI), with the support of Mr. Yahya Rehman (Deputy Manager, IsDBI), Dr. Hilal Houssain (Deputy Manager, IsDBI), chaired by Dr. Hylmun Izhar (Senior Research Economist) at IsDBI ). This conference explores IsDBI’s cutting-edge solutions to address the complex economic challenges faced by IsDB member countries and foster a culture of innovation and problem-solving.
