Steph Curry steals show on Klay Thompson’s return to Golden State Warriors
Stephen Curry scored 37 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 120-117 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Cup with Klay Thompson back at Chase Center.
The 36-year-old scored the Warriors’ final 12 points, including a stunning 3-pointer, to make it 118-114, continuing their good start to the season.
The 34-year-old Thompson ended his 13-year career with the Warriors last summer and joined the Mavericks. This was his first return to the Bay Area and scored 22 points.
Curry, who won four NBA championships with Thompson, said it felt strange to play against his former teammate.
“We went over the scouting and the game before the game,” Curry said.
“It was almost surreal, ‘Stephen, you found Clay.'”
