Sione Tuipulotu: Scotland captain considered offers abroad before signing new Glasgow deal
Sione Tupulotu admits he spoke to other clubs before agreeing a new contract to stay at Glasgow Warriors, with the Scotland captain confident he can fulfill all his ambitions at Scoston.
The in-form 27-year-old center attracted interest from clubs in England and France, but this week he committed to the Warriors until the summer of 2028.
Tupulotu will lead Scotland against South Africa at Murrayfield on Sunday (16:10 GMT).
“When it came time to make the decision, I had the choice of going to the (English) Premier League or going to France,” he said.
“I was very clear with my agent and I was very open and honest with Glasgow that I would explore my opportunities elsewhere just because I thought it was the right thing to do.
“At the end of the day I probably had a few offers elsewhere, including one from Glasgow, and the Glasgow offer made sense to me.”
