England 37-42 Australia: Max Jorgenson scores last-gasp try to snatch victory
England’s autumn campaign went further off the rails as Australia stunned the Allianz Arena with a decisive 42-37 victory.
England led by 12 points in a see-saw affair before trailing by 10, but Maro Itoje’s 78th-minute strike seemed to settle the matter as the home side led 37-35.
However, on the final play of the game, Len Ikitau found space and fed substitute winger Max Jorgenson, who scampered forward and, after a shock jumped up in front of the stands to celebrate.
After last weekend’s loss to the All Blacks, England have lost six of 10 games this season, including their last four. This is their worst performance since 2018.
