Ding Junhui beats Xu Si to secure spot in International Championship final
Ding Junhui defeated Xu Si 9-6 and advanced to the finals of the Nanjing International Championships, where his opponent was Chris Wakelin.
At the end of the first quarter, Xu Yong shot 137 and 113, leading 5-3. Ding Junhui’s highest single score was 119.
The three-time British Championship champion led the night against his Chinese compatriot, leading 6-5 in the first three games before Xu evened the score at 6-6.
In the final game, in a tense atmosphere, Ding Junhui won the next two rounds, including a 66 in the 14th round.
The 37-year-old, who has not won a ranking event since winning the 2019 British Championship, shot 58 to secure victory and reach the final.
